Black History Month Celebration!

A Taste of West Africa Returns! Saturday, February 11, 2023, MCC Continuing Education 10 AM to 1 PM. We will prepare two recipes, West African Sweet Potato Peanut Soup and La Pain de Vie (French for the bread of life), an Afro-Brazilian-inspired dessert. A perfect pair to celebrate Black History Month and the contribution of African American ancestors.


Chef Sheri's Tips


Each Mother Sauce produces two to three secondary sauces and host of derivitive sauces.



The key to developing rich sauces is in mastering the art of making a Roux.



Over-hydrated or thin sauces can be saved by making "slurry"; part cool sauce or liquid plus starch for thickening.
